சிறந்த தமிழ் எழுத்தாளர்களில் ஒருவர் சுஜாதா. தனது தனிப்பட்ட கற்பனை மற்றும் நடையால் அவர் பல வாசகர்களை கவர்ந்துள்ளார்.
சுஜாதாவின் முதல் கதை 1953 வருடம் ‘சிவாஜி’ என்ற பத்திரிக்கையில் வெளிவந்தது. இவரது “இடது ஓரத்தில்” என்ற சிறுகதை 1962 வருடம் ‘குமுதம்’ பத்திரிக்கையில் வெளிவந்தது. அது முதல் தொடர்ந்து எழுதி வந்துள்ளார் இந்த 60 + வயது இளைஞர் !
சிறுகதைகள், நாவல்கள், நாடகங்கள், அறிவியல் நூல்கள், கவிதைகள், கட்டுரைகள், சினிமா கதை-வசனங்கள், தொலைகாட்சி நாடகங்கள் என பல துறைகளில் கலக்கும் இவரை ‘மல்டி-மீடியா எழுத்தாளர்’ என்று அழைக்கலாம்
சுஜாதாவின் இயற்பெயர் … சுஜாதாவின் இயற்பெயர் ரங்கராஜன். பிறகு ஏன் ‘சுஜாதா’ என்ற பெயரில் எழுதுகிறார் ? அவரே சொல்கிறார்: “எனது ”இடது ஓரத்தில்“ என்ற (முதல்) சிறுகதை 1962 வருடம் ‘குமுதம்’ பத்திரிக்கையில் வெளஞ்வந்தது - ரங்கராஜன் என்ற பெயரில். ‘குமுதம்’ (ரா.கி.) ரங்கராஜனுடன் குழப்பம் ஏற்பட்டதால் புதிய மனைவி பெயரைச் சேர்த்துக் கொள்ள ‘சுஜாதா’ தான் மிஞ்சியது. அப்புறம் நடந்தது தெரிந்த விஷயம்.”
சுஜாதாவின் முதல் சிறுகதை … சுஜாதாவின் முதல் கதை 1953 வருடம் ‘சிவாஜி’ என்ற பத்திரிக்கையில் வெளஞ்வந்தது. அதைப் பற்றி சுஜாதா சொல்கிறார்: “சிவாஜி பத்திரிக்கையில் முதல் முறை அந்தக் கதை வந்தபோது அடைந்த சந்தோஷத்தை நான் மறுபடி பெறவில்லை. அந்த சிவாஜி பத்திரிக்கை பிரதியை எனக்கு இப்போது யாரவது தேடிக் கண்டுபிடித்துத் தந்தால், அவருக்கு என் ராஜ்யத்தில் பாதியைத் தருவேன் !”

Sujatha is one of the most popular Tamil writers. He has a unique style of writing which got him a wide audience. He has made a difference in the Tamil literature world by his unique style, ideas, and different genres in which he has written.
His “Kadaisi Pakkam” (last page) in Kanaiyali magazine became very popular and following that he has written several “Pakkams” (pages) in other magazines too.
Sujatha’s literary work includes fiction (short stories, novels, drama) in different categories like social, thriller, science, prose (articles), poems, etc. Sujatha has written a good number of science fiction stories in Tamil. He has written books which explains science in simple Tamil terms.
Sujatha can be considered as a Multi-media writer - apart from writing for magazines, he has written stories, screenplays and dialogues for several Tamil Dramas, T.V. serials and movies. He has also written stories for multi-media educational CD ROMs and now he has a home page (Sujatha’s Home Page) where he gives tips to develop the art of good writing.
He received an award from the Indian government (National Council for Science and Technology) in 1993 for making the people familiar with Science through public media (books, magazines, TV). Sujatha’s original name is Rangarajan. He is a youth who is 60 + years old. He was working for Bharat Electronics in Bangalore, India as a General Manager and he retired recently and moved to Chennai, India.
