வேட்டையாடு விளையாடு விழா பற்றி சுஜாதா

எனது நண்பர் மாணிக்கம் நாராயணின் அழைப்பில் அவர் எடுத்து முடித்த 'வேட்டையாடு விளையாடு' திரைப்படத்தின் இசை வெளியீட்டு விழாவுக்கு குளிக்க அழைத்துச் செல்லப்படும் நாய்க்குட்டிபோலச் சென்றேன். காரணம் இம்மாதிரி விழாக்களில் படுத்துவார்கள். பத்துமணி என்று சொல்லி பதினொன்றரைக்கு முதல் நாற்காலிகளை மேடை மேல் வைத்து 'செக் செக் மைக் டெஸ்டிங்!' செய்வார்கள். விஐபிக்கள் செல்போனில் 'வந்துகொண்டே இருக்கிறேன்' என்று பாத்ரூமிலிருந்து சொல்லிக் கொண்டிருப்பார்கள். விழா நாயகர்கள் வரும்வரை எங்கள் போன்ற பாமரர்களுக்கு கமல் படங்களின் பழைய பாடல்களையும் இசையமைப்பாளர் ஹாரிஸ் ஜெயராஜின் சமீபத்திய பாடல்களையும் சின்மயி, ஸ்ரீலேகா பார்த்தசாரதி, கார்த்திக், சரண், உண்ணி மேனன், ஸ்ரீனிவாஸ் போன்றவர்கள் ஸ்ருதி விலகுவது பற்றி கவலைப்படாமல் பாடிக்காட்ட கமல் ரசிகர்கள் மாடியில் பால்கனியில் அவ்வப்போது 'ஆழ்வார்பேட்டை ஐயப்பா! 'மன்னார்குடி மாமன்னா' என்று ஆரவாரமிட்டுக் கொண்டிருக்க, எல்லோரும் யாருக்காகவோ எதற்காகவோ காத்திருந்தோம்.

மேடையில் மேலும் காலி நாற்காலிகள் போடப்பட்டன. நான் அவைகளை எண்ணி ஒரு நாற்காலிக்கு ஒரு நிமிஷம் என்று வைத்தாலே எப்போது முடியும் என்று யோசிக்கையில் கமல் வந்தார். விசில் சப்தம் காதைப் பிளந்தது. அது ஏதோ பறவைக்குரல்போல நிராகரிக்கப்பட்டு, 'உன்னைவிட இந்த உலகத்தில் யாருமில்லை' என்று இன்னும் சில கமல் ஹிட்ஸ் பாடினார்கள். கமிஷனரோ யாரோ வரவில்லை போலும். இறுதியில் விழா துவங்கியது.

குத்துவிளக்கில் பற்றவைக்க திரிகள் போதவில்லை. விடியோ காமிராக்காரர்களின் அட்டகாசமும் கடவுள் வாழ்த்தும் முடிந்து ஒவ்வொருவராக வந்து பேச ஆரம்பித்தார்கள். 'படம் சிறப்பாக அமைய வாழ்த்துகிறேன்', 'இந்தப் படத்தின் நூறாம் நாள் விழாவிலும் கலந்துகொள்ள விரும்புகிறேன்', 'கமல் உட்கார்ந்திருக்கும் மேடையில் பேசுவது என்பதே எனக்குப் பெருமையாக இருக்கிறது', 'அவர் வாழும் காலததில் நானும் வாழ்வதில் இன்னும் பெருமை', 'நான் மானுட ஜென்மம் எடுத்ததற்கு பலன் கிடைத்துவிட்டது' என்று தமிழர்களுக்கு கைதேர்ந்த கலையான sycophansyயால் மேடை நனைந்தது. என்னையும் பேசச் சொன்னார்கள். தட்டித் தடுக்கி போடியத்தை அடைந்து 'கமல் வேட்டையாடி விளையாடிவிட்டு, தசாவதாரம் எடுக்கப்போகிறார். அதில் இரண்டு அவதாரம்தான் நிச்சயமாகியிருக்கிறது. கதாநாயகன், வில்லன் மற்ற எட்டு வேடங்கள் தினம் தினம் மாறுகிறது. காரணம் கமல். உலகில் உள்ள அத்தனை வேடங்களையும் ஏற்கக்கூடியவர்' என்றபோது விசில் பறந்தது. என் பங்குக்கு கைதட்டல் பெறவேண்டாமா அந்த சபையில்?

பார்த்திபன், 'நாங்கள் விசில் அடிப்பது விரலால், நீங்கள் விசில் அடிப்பது மனத்தால்' என்றபோது சீழ்க்கையொலி 140 டெசிமெல்லைத் தொட்டது. விவேக், வேட்டையாடு விளையாடு என்று ஆடு மட்டும்தான் சொல்லியிருக்கிறார். கோழி, முட்டை என்று நல்லவேளை சொல்லவில்லை. பர்ட் ஃப்ளுவினால் பரவை முனியம்மாவுக்கு காய்ச்சல் வந்தாலே ஊசி போட்டுவிடுவார்கள்' என்று சந்தர்ப்ப ஜோக் அடித்தார். ரஜினியின் 'சிவாஜி' பற்றி ஆரம்பித்தபோது சட்டென்று மௌனம் பரவுவதை உணர்ந்து உடனே சப்ஜெக்டை மாற்றிவிட்டார்.

முன்னணி இளம் டைரக்டர்கள் அனைவரும் வந்திருந்தனர். அலைபாயும் கூந்தல் பெண்கள், அவ்வப்போது அவர்கள் கவனத்தை கவர திரும்பித் திரும்பி பார்த்துக் கொண்டிருந்தார்கள். செல்வியில் வரும் ரஞ்சனி எனக்கு முன்சீட்டில் வீற்றிருந்தார். 'ஏனம்மா இப்படி தினம்தினம் லட்சக்கணக்கான பெண்மணிகளுக்கு எரிச்சலூட்டுகிறீர்கள்'என்று கேட்டால் என்ன பதில் வரும் என்று தெரிந்ததால் கேட்கவில்லை.

வே-வி. படத்திலிருந்து ஒரு பாட்டை போட்டுக் காட்டினார்கள். திரையில் ந்யுயார்க் மாநகரின் கட்டடங்கள், இரவுக்காட்சிகள், ரெஸ்டாரண்டுகள், தெருக்கள் இடையே கமலும் ஜோதிகாவும் நடந்த சென்று கொண்டிருந்தார்கள். சௌகரியமான படப்பிடிப்பு, லிப் சிங்க்கே தேவையில்லை, கதையும் நகரத் தேவையில்லை பாலு மகேந்திரா படங்களில் இந்த உத்தியை முதலில் பார்த்தோம்.

கூட்டம் நல்ல பசி வேளையில் முடிந்து சத்யம் தியேட்டரிலிருந்து வெளியே வர அரைமணி காத்திருந்தபோது கோடம்பாக்கத்தின் யாக்கை நிலையாமையும் தற்கொலை முயற்சிகளையும் ஒண்ணேகால் வட்டி விகிதங்களையும் வெற்றியின் விதிகள் யாருக்கும் விளங்காமையும் யோசித்துக் கொண்டிருந்தேன்.

ஒரு கமல் ரசிகர் காரினுள் கை நுழைத்து குலுக்கி, 'சார்! தசாவதாரத்துக்கு நல்லா வசனம் எழுதலைன்னா பாருங்க' என்று ஆணையிட்டார்.

    ஆமாம். சுஜாதா இந்த படத்திற்கு விமர்சனம் எழுதியிருந்தால் கிண்டல் கேலி இருந்திருக்கும். ஆனால் கமலின் திறமை பற்றி 10 வரிகளும், வேட்டையாடு விளையாடு பற்றி 10 வரிகளும் கலந்து வந்திருக்கும். நடுநிலைமை இல்லாவிட்டாலும் சுவராஸ்யம் குறைவதில்லை.

    எல்லாராலும் எல்லாவற்றையும் கற்க முடிவதில்லை, பெற முடிவதில்லை.

    I'm constant reader of your blogspot. One thing has become very clear from your blogspot, that Writer Sujatha is a pure commercial fellow and he is a clear cut opportunist, I had great respect for him, and bought Illayaraja's Symphony after his good review, but that CD proved to be a big bunch of idiotic stuff, he had tried to mix our own divine music with junk western music and that effort has become like mixing our south Indian Paniyaaram with italian sphagetti. So, i've stopped believing in sujatha's words and his commercial-based articles. Sorry to say this. i know that he will lavishly praise Dasavatharam bec. he is the lyrics writer in that movie

    As a followup to my letter few days back, in dinamalar Wednesday edition, two Professors from Madras University Music dept has contended that Illayaraja's symphony Oratoria is a fake and he had cheated the people by using Tiruvasakam. It's a shame that Illayaraja is being considered a great musician and it's great shame that Writer sujatha has given lavish write up for that Symphony

    "கமலை எல்லோரும் மேடையில் புகழ்ந்து தள்ளினார்கள்" என்று குறை சொல்லும் சுஜாதாவும், தன் பங்குக்கும் புகழ்ந்து தள்ளி இருப்பது வேதனைக்குரியது. மற்றவர்களை குற்றம் சொல்லும் முன்பு, நாம் அப்படி இருக்கிறோமா என எண்ணிப் பார்ப்பது நல்லது.

    யாரையும் புண்படுத்த வேண்டும் என்று இதை சொல்லவில்லை. குறை இருந்தால் மன்னிக்கவும்.

    You don't have to apologise!(That's not Sujatha style! If you have read 'Kattrathum petrathum', you know how he gets irritated with people pointing out his mistakes without realising that it is a diguised complements to his writings!) I have always seen this kind of hypocrisy with Sujatha! In his early stories, he used to be satirical about tamil movies, heroes, heroines etc. Now he is part of the group who is making such stupid movies (apart from the good ones ofcourse), justifying that 'they 'have added lot of stuff for commercial success of the movies - probably he is getting ""wiser""!
    He talks about sycophancy - he is also fanatical about tamil, tamilian achievements alwars (& alwar pettai!) etc. Basically his 'intellect' is trying to reject his feelings!
