பலே பல்வந்த்பூரா

ரயில்வே பட்ஜட்டில் ரயில் டிக்கேட் எவ்வளவு கம்மியாகியிருக்கிறது என்று பார்த்துக்கொண்டிருந்த போது, NDTVல் பல்வந்த்பூரா ஸ்டேஷனை பற்றி ஒரு கொசுரு செய்தியை கான்பித்தார்கள்.

பல்வந்த்பூரா(Balwantpura) ஜெய்பூரிலிருந்து நூற்றியருபது கி.மீ தூரத்தில் இருக்கிறது.  இந்திய வரைபடத்தில் இந்த மாதிரி ஓர் ஊர் இருக்கா என்று கூட தெரியாது.

இந்த 1994 ஆம் ஆண்டு முதலே பல்வந்த்புராவில் வசிப்பவர்கள் தங்கள் ஊருக்கு ஒரு ரயில்வே ஸ்டேஷன் வேண்டும் விரும்பி, ரயில்வே துறைக்கு கோரிக்கை வைத்தார்கள். ஆனால் போதிய அளவு நிதியில்லை என்று ரயில்வே நிராகரித்தது.

இதனால் சுற்றி உள்ள ஐந்து கிராமங்களில் இருப்பவர்கள் பஞ்சாயத்தில் ஒன்று கூடி தாங்களாகவே ஸ்டேஷன் கட்ட முடிவு செய்தனர். அவர்கள் ரயில்வேயிடம் "நாங்கள் ஸ்டேஷன் கட்டினால் நீங்கள் அட்லீஸ்ட் இந்த வழியாக வரும் ரயிலை நிறுத்துவீர்களா என்றனர்?" ரயில்வே சம்மதிக்கவே 20,000 மக்கள் கொண்ட ஊர் மக்கள், பக்கத்தில் உள்ள பள்ளி, கல்லூரி என்று நன்கொடை வசூலித்து தாங்களாகவே ஸ்டேஷனை கட்டியுள்ளார்கள்.  அங்கு டீக்கடை வைத்திருப்பவர் கூட ஸ்டேஷன் கட்டும் பணியாளர்களுக்கு இலவச டீ சப்பளை செய்து தன்னால் ஆன உதவியை செய்துள்ளார்!

ஒரு சின்ன பிளாட்பாரம், நான்கு பென்ச்கள், குடிக்க ஒரு தண்ணீர் குழாய் என்று 8 லட்சம் ரூபாய் செலவில் ஒரு ஸ்டேஷனை கட்டியுள்ளார்கள். பின்னர் ரயில்வே அதிகாரிகள் அதை ஸ்டேஷனாக ஏற்றுக்கொண்டு அதன் வழியாக போகும் ரயில்களை ஒரு நிமிடம் நிறுத்த சம்மதித்தனர். இந்த ஸ்டேஷன் கட்டிய ஒரு வருடத்தில் 12,918 பயணிகள் ரயில் ஏறி இறங்கியிருக்கிறார்கள். ரயில்வேக்கு இதனால் கிடைத்த வருவாய் 1.5 லட்சம் ரூபாய்!.

ரயில்வேயிலிருந்து ரிடையர் ஆன பஜ்ரங் லால் இந்த ஸ்டேஷனை தற்போது சம்பளம் எதுவும் வாங்காமல் பார்த்துக்கொள்கிறார். இந்த ஸ்டேஷனில் இன்னும் டிக்கெட் கவுண்டர் இல்லை; பயணிகள் ரயில் வந்தவுடன் காப்பாளரிடம்(Guard) டிக்கெட் வாங்கிக்கொள்கிறார்கள்.

அடுத்த முறை நாம் ரோட்டில் மேடு பள்ளம் என்று புலம்பும் முன், பல்வந்த்பூரா கிராம மக்கள் நம் நினைவில் வர வேண்டும்.

    It can never happen in City. The Village people had a common problem.

    City people find quick alternatives to their problems. Let me talk about the Set Top Box issue. When Conditional Access System was introduced in Chennai, protests werent appreciable. They knew they were going to get some channels free. People who really cared for watching certain channels, did get the Set Top Box. Then sometime back, when the Govt decided to put away the Set Top boxes, the considerably good number of Set top box owners protested, and made the rest of the people weep for a lifetime.

    This is a simple case where the City people could have shown some unity, and could have avoided altogether.. it didnt even involve money.. like the Village problem mentioned... Now you can exagerate this to a problem that involves m oney.

    There was a similar article of interest in Ananda Vikatan 3 weeks back 'Ippadiku vazhkai' where a person had great affinity for train going through a station in his village. When railways decided not to stop the train on the station citing maintenance difficulties, he decided he will work morning and evening towards ticket issue free of charge and has been doing it for many years now. This has been excellent service.

    ம்ம்ம்ம்........நல்ல எடுத்துக்காட்டுதான். பட்டினத்தில் சரிவருமா எனத் தெரியவில்லை. ஆனாலும் பல்வந்த்பூர் மக்கள் நிச்சயமான பாராட்டுக்கு உரியவர்கள். ஐயமில்லை. அரசாங்கம் செய்யாமல் இருக்கும் பொழுது...நமக்கு நாமே செய்து கொள்வதுதான் சரி.
